Urgent Appeal:

My friend, I need your help urgently.

Yesterday, a young cat fell from the fourth floor of the building our office is located in. A maintenance man came to our office and begged us to help the cat, who was now lying out in the alley.

I ran to his side, and found him conscious but crying in pain. He couldn’t walk and was bleeding from his mouth. I had to act very quickly - his owner was nowhere to be found, so I rushed him to a veterinary hospital.

After examining him, the vet found all four of his legs are broken. But miraculously, the breaks are clean and there are no internal injuries. Because he is a young and strong cat, the veterinarian says his prognosis is excellent.

The bad news: his care will cost a whopping $6000.

Global Action Network has adopted the cat, who we’ve named “Ferdinand” -- along with his massive vet bill. And we desperately need your help. You see, this bill would wipe out GAN’s very limited resources, and the only other option is to euthanise Ferdinand.

I simply can’t betray him. Ferdinand is a truly special cat. Despite the agony he was in, he leaned his head so trustingly against me. As he looked into my eyes, I sensed he knew we were there to help him.

I promised Ferdinand then we would find a way to fix him. And if you had been there, I know you’d have done the same.

You’ve come to the rescue of so many other animals – please help us save Ferdinand now. I know if we all work together, we can give this cat – a truly wonderful animal - a much needed second chance.

Global Action Network simply can’t afford this alone. Two of our Directors have already contributed $1000 of their own money – please, please help us raise the rest.

Ferdinand will require six weeks of dedicated post operative home care, and we have already found a wonderful volunteer who has agreed to take this on. We even have offers for a permanent home for Ferdinand once he is better.

But we simply can’t cope with this massive vet bill. We are asking everyone who has supported GAN in the past to contribute something – anything – to Ferdinand’s recovery fund. Ferdinand is a gentle and loving cat, and he has already survived so much.

Please contribute as generously as you can. Please help Ferdinand live the rest of his remaining eight lives.
